Replaying Your Snapshots
When analysing your data using the Graf-FX launchpad,
it is possible to save your drilldown graf as a snapshot using
a button with a camera
. This snapshot
is simply a Microsoft Access form that has a Microsoft Access
Graph object, the query that shows the data that you are interested
in visualising and a text box that is utilised for the graph titles.
The snapshot replay form
can be opened from the Main Menu using the button displayed above
or using the Graf-FX toolbar with the Camera Button or by opening
the form called "z_snapShots". This show a form that
looks as follows
This form allows you to set up collections of graf
forms that have different drilldown queries associated with them
and have a graphical design that is suited to that data. To see
how this form replays old data, Click on the following Button
![]()
This shows a Graf with an associated query in a separate
Access form. Now return to the Snapshots Window and click on
the following button that closes all the open grafs
When the Graf opened, it showed the results of the
Query with the data in the state that it was in when you last
ran the Graf in a live mode. The snapshot album allows you to
replay the grafs without re-querying your data. This is designed
to save time and system resources. To see the current live data,
click on the following button
. Now click
on
to show the grafs with "Live"
data.
You will see that a combo box with a number in it
appeared to the right of the of the Fuel Tank icon as follows
This combo selection tells the snapshot re-player the first graf
in the collection to replay first. If you select 4 then forms
numbered 4 till the end of the collection will be shown with forms
1 to 3 being excluded. The snapshot replays will only show 3
grafs at a time for Microsoft Access 2 and 9 grafs at a time for
new versions of Microsoft Graph.
Now the grafs that you have saved in Graf-FX can be organised into Album collections. Use the following buttons to show and manage the different collections of grafs.
You will see that the second collection of grafs has more than one graf in it as follows
Select the
at the top of
the Snapshot form to setup your own Album collection.
Now you can enter the name of the collection, its description and select the Grafs that you want to replay. An example of this follows
Now you can replay your own collections of Grafs
rather than drilling down to find the relevant graf again.
